I have been playing the pipes over 24 years and have played virtually every type of event you could imagine.
I am available to play weddings, funerals & memorials, special events, parties, etc.
The tunes vary depending upon the event...up-beat tunes for weddings and parties, slow airs and solemn, dignified music for funerals/memorials (including religious tunes).
If you need more than one piper, or wish to have drums for a fuller sound, I can accommodate your needs.
Please understand...due to continuing COVID concerns, I am selective about each request.
So great! He was punctual, played exactly what we wanted. He called a few days before to plan for the day! He even took a few pics for me of our wedding ceremony from him POV. thank you so much!
Response from ScrantonPiper:
Thank you, Morgan.
I’m glad you chose me to be a part of your ceremony.
Best of luck to both of you!
Worth every penny. My wife passed away from cancer. We held a life celebration outside and having him here made the day. His daughter played drums which was a nice touch.
Every detail was discussed and the wedding was a great success. This duo were super friendly and helpful with planning. The day of my wedding everything fell into place just as it was supposed to. I was very happy and satisfied. It was super hot and humid and they didn’t miss a beat. Very thankful.

One of his final wishes was to have a bagpiper at his funeral. He also wanted us to celebrate his life. The Scranton Piper was the perfect fit for our celebration of life!
My family was so thrilled with Bill’s performance. Made for some great memories!
Response from ScrantonPiper:
Thank you, Joan!
It was a pleasure playing at your event.
Bill was an absolutely wonderful addition to our wedding ceremony! He was easy to work with, and sounded awesome! We got so many compliments! Thanks Bill!
Although this was a short notice event everything went very well and we could not have asked for anything additional. Bill was very professional and offered suggestions on what and where to play. Would highly recommend his services and will use again.

I am a Highland Bagpiper living in Scranton, PA with my wife and two children.
I began my piping studies in 1998 and progressed in record time to playing with the local pipe band. Piping came naturally to me, and before I knew it, I had a tremendous grasp of the instrument. My learning continues to this day, with top-level players/instructors, in order to keep my repertoire ever fresh and expanding.
My experience with the bagpipes allows me to have an instrument which is finely tuned to perfection, and as a result will sound pleasing to the ear. Furthermore, the same experience gives me the technical expertise to play a wide variety of tunes to the best of my ability, further enhancing the musical performance that you will hear.
By far, the biggest request I receive is to play the bride & groom out of their wedding ceremony. And while there are other options available at a wedding for playing the pipes, the surprise of a piper at the end of the ceremony is a big treat for all. I work with the bride and groom to get as many details of their day as I can, so I can make suggestions as to how the pipes can be included into their plans.
Funerals and memorials can be emotional to plan, and I take that into consideration when planing the details with the family or funeral director in order to make the bagpipes a fitting tribute.
Kilted attire is standard, but under some circumstances I have been asked to play in a business suit or business casual attire.
