Delta Lou, either solo, or with the upright base player, will provide amplification via a simple two speaker PA system with speaker stands. We dress up in the old time tradition like players from the 1920s which usually consists of wearing suspenders, nice dress shirts, cabbie hats and etc. (I speak in 1920's vernacular) . We will have some stage decorations with us as well. Delta Lou will present the music with historical commentary as the set progresses; the music is upbeat, entertaining and very unique. The show lasts from 2-3 hours and covers 25+ songs covering a wide array of traditional delta blues songs on the National resophonic guitar. Our music is designed for a more sophisticated setting and atmosphere. Ideal for a dinner party, small gathering, summer party, and etc. Someone once described it as daytime wine/champaign sipping music. Our music feels like a 1920's jazz group yet still rooted in the country blues but we are definitely Americana through and through. Our music is also educational as it reflects on the historical musical ties to the St Louis area. We suggest that our music would be most welcomed in the communities that make up West County in St Louis like Ladue, Clayton, Town and Country, Creve Coeur, and also Webster Groves, Kirkwood, CWE in the city. As a solo act, Delta Lou is available in all of Chicagoland where he lives half the time between St Louis and Chicago. We are open to play anywhere though if the atmosphere is right. I can attest that the show is constantly entertaining and unique given the nature of the instruments.
Delta Lou has made it his life's passion and mission to preserve American Roots and Delta Blues music through his rich content of E-Books in the instruction of guitar found at (link hidden). He is a native of Chicago, Illinois and is willing to play nationwide as a solo act and if possible, a two man ensemble featuring the bass guitar.
We have a two speaker, simple PA system which is ideal for a smaller venue. We have mic stands, mics, a bass amp, power chord wires and everything to amplify our routine. We can setup a make-shift stage just about anywhere whether it be outside at a house party or indoors, we are flexible.

For anyone that knows the history of Blues, we are pretty much a Robert Johnson cover band playing about half of his numbers. Our influences are the early American Blues masters such as Skip James, Muddy Waters, Son House, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Blind Willie McTell, Blind Boy Fuller, Blind Lemon Jefferson and also Tom Waits, Squirrel Nut Zippers for some more contemporary acts.
We can provide our own PA system, but if you have your own, we can easily plug and play through you. Situation is fluid either way.
