Kim and Alan have a small PA, and Alan is an accomplished audio tech. In addition to playing the event, they can provide audio for themselves, as well as any speaking officiators. They can provide sound for an additional singer if (for instance) a family member, friend, or employee wants to sing a piece at an event, and they can provide an audio feed (even wirelessly) to a videographer.
It is very common for them to play unamplified for a wedding ceremony but set up their PA for a cocktail hour before dinner, and they commonly play the first dance before turning it over to a DJ.
It is also common for many events for them to play as guests are seated. They have a handful of jazz, classical, and Celtic standards you can choose from. They can focus on a genre or provide a mix.
If you need a tune that works better with drums and bass, it is best to let them know well in advance, so Alan has time to arrange and program that material. Barnes 2 charges extra fees for special requests but is happy to provide special arrangements!
